In 2015, Saint Clair Cemin started sketching out one of his most ambitious projects: the creation of a 5 mete long marble boat that could float on water, called Psyche. Inspired by the myth of Eros and Psyche, the boat represented the liminal space between the physical and the dream world. Director Svetlana Cemin filmed the process of it creation from the selection of the block of marble in Sichuan, China, to the piece’s final completion, showcasing all the internal and subconscious processes of the artist at work.
The piece was exhibited at the Paul Kasmin Gallery from from May 26 to August 19, 2016, and is now displayed at Rowdy Meadow in Cleveland, Ohio.
